Favourite holiday destination: South Africa. I went to South Africa for three weeks last year and loved its diversity. From amazing safari lodges and game drives to small coastal hotels that are just a walk from the beach, it truly has something for everyone. One day you can be in the lush wine lands, picking your dinner from the vegetable gardens, and then the next you can be on safari seeing the big five. It’s also a fantastic destination for family holidays with many of the reserves offering fantastic education for children as well as adults.
Favourite accommodation: I like accommodation that gives me a little bit extra like four or five star hotels that offer club rooms that make you feel special. The Zabeel Saray in Dubai has a club room which is fit for royalty and features incredible extras that are definitely worth the extra money. On the other side of this, I believe that you should always stay where you are going to get the best experience for your destination, like camping in the National Parks in South Africa.
Dream round the world itinerary: My dream itinerary would offer diversity. I’d start on a high in a nice hotel, enjoy a day tour to help me find my feet and I’d speak to the locals about where to go and eat. Then I’d move between a few places, staying in different places with homestays or camping in national parks or small towns. Then I’d end on a high in a nice hotel on the beach.
Expert tip: Always upgrade where you can. Holidays are something that we work very hard for so why stay in the cheapest room when you can get so much more for a little more money? Find that one place that you can get the best value in your upgrade and treat yourself. Club Rooms will often offer drinks in the evening, while some will even offer lunch, soft drinks and snacks all day in their club lounges.
