Nairobi
Nairobi
In the evening you’ll meet the rest of your group at your hotel, but if you have any free time before that, you can set out and explore Nairobi’s cosmopolitan restaurants and bars. You might decide to head to the Karen Blixen Museum and learn more about the author of 'Out of Africa', or visit the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust to meet the orphaned and injured elephants, some of whom are only babies.

Lake Nakuru National Park
Lake Nakuru National Park
After lunch, set off on a game drive and look out for the once-in-a-lifetime spectacle of Lake Nakuru, covered in flamingos, appearing like a sea of pink. There’s a very good chance of spotting zebra and white rhino here too, so get your camera ready, although the black rhinos are a little more elusive. Back at camp, enjoy a refreshing dip in the pool or a sundowner cocktail in the bar.

Lake Naivasha
Lake Naivasha
Here, you can choose to take a boat ride where you might spot hippos and birds or chill out by the pool at your camp. The next day, you’re free to explore. You might opt for a lakeside bike ride or head out onto the water. Alternatively, get your hiking boots on and walk through the Crater Lake Game Sanctuary or Hell’s Gate National Park, home to rare bearded vultures.

Masai Mara National Reserve
Masai Mara National Reserve
Here you’ll stop at a Maasai village and learn more about the local culture with a talk from a local elder. The next day you’ll enjoy a full day’s game viewing in the reserve. Keep your eyes peeled for the Big Five – lion, rhino, elephant, buffalo and leopard – among many other creatures. The next day, you’ll have the chance to fly high above the plains on a sunrise hot air balloon ride (pre-booking advised).
