Day 1
Kuching

Kuching

Saturday – Welcome to Borneo! Upon arrival, you will be met and transferred to our hotel. Overnight - Kuching

Day 2
Cat City

Cat City

Kuching. Established by Sir James Cook, ‘Cat ’City, is a relaxed modern city which still retains most of its heritage. We explore Chinese temples, Markets and the Sarawak Museum, all before lunch, leaving this afternoon free to enjoy at your leisure. Overnight - Kuching

Day 3
Bako National Park

Bako National Park

Today, we travel by coach and then a short boat ride along the shoreline of the South China Sea to Bako National Park. See proboscis monkeys, silver leaf monkeys, long-tailed macaques and monitor lizards in a natural setting. Walk forest trails to secluded beaches and experience this amazing wilderness which is located so close to Kuching. Overnight - Kuching 

Day 4
Orangutans & Longhouses

Orangutans & Longhouses

Kuching - Batang Ai. This morning we visit Semenggoh Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre, where orphaned and injured orangutans are being nurtured before being released back into the wild. We walk through pristine rainforest to the viewing platform where we can watch the orangutans at feeding time. Continuing on through rural Sarawak, we stop along the way for lunch and a visit to a local market and pepper garden. On arrival at the Lemanak River we travel by longboat along the river to the Mengkak Iban Longhouse in Batang Ai. This afternoon, we tour the longhouse and watch the Iban local people at work making mats, baskets, handicrafts and mending fishing nets. After dinner, join in the fun filled evening with the traditional dance and enjoy the locally brewed rice wine known as ‘Tuak’. Overnight - Mengkak Iban Longhouse

Day 5
Batang Ai Nature Walk

Batang Ai Nature Walk

After breakfast we watch a blowpipe demonstration, before taking a guided nature walk through the pristine jungle where we learn about the medicinal plants used by the Iban and other shoots and roots used as food. We stop by the river beach for a tasty backwoods style picnic lunch where our food is cooked in bamboo. After lunch, we travel by longboat to the Batang Ai Longhouse Resort (managed Hilton) where we spend the night. Overnight - Batang Ai Longhouse Resort

Day 6
Return to Kuching

Return to Kuching

Batang Ai - Kuching. After breakfast we take a ferry from the resort to the jetty, before driving back to Kuching, stopping for lunch en route. Overnight - Kuching

Day 7
Semadang Kayaking

Semadang Kayaking

This morning we drive to Bengoh village where we take to the water for an exciting river kayaking adventure, visiting mini waterfalls and caves en route and feeding river fish. We'll also take a village walk and enjoy lunch at Bidayuh Village. This afternoon we return to Kuching. Overnight - Kuching 

Day 8
Kota Kinbalu

Kota Kinbalu

Kuching - Kota Kinbalu. Today we bid farewell to Sarawak and hello to Sabah! After breakfast we transfer to Kuching Airport for your flight to Kota Kinabalu. After hotel check in the remainder of the day can be spent at leisure. Please note: The flight from Kuching to Kota Kinabalu is not included in the cost of this tour. Airport transfers on day 8 will be included if you book the Malaysian Airlines flight which departs daily. Overnight - Kota Kinbalu

Day 9
Mamutik Island

Mamutik Island

Kota Kinabalu – Mamutik Island. Only 20 mins by boat from Kota Kinabalu is the beautiful Mamutik Island and the stunning coral islands of the Tunku Abdul Rahman Park. With clear waters, beautiful beaches and coral reefs, spend the day relaxing, snorkelling amongst tropical fish or exploring jungle trails. Overnight - Kota Kinabalu

Dusun Village Homestay

Dusun Village Homestay

Kota Kinabalu – Taginambur. Today we explore rural Sabah. Travelling north and with Mt Kinabalu as a backdrop we explore the quaint and lively town of Kota Belud before arriving at our accommodation for the night - Taginambur Homestay set in a local Dusan Village. Tonight we are immersed in the local culture with a cultural show. Overnight - Taginambur homestay

Day 11
Taginbur & Kinabalu National Park

Taginbur & Kinabalu National Park

Taginabur - Kundasang. Feel the serenity of this lush area and waken to the calls of roosters! A short walk to the nearby rubber estate we start the day by testing your skill at rubber tapping. After which we spend time visiting Kinabalu National Park and its mountain garden, home to various species of the flowering Rhododendrons, carnivorous pitcher plants, orchids, ferns, and birds. If time and weather permit, we take a guided trail walk. Overnight - Kundasang

Sepilok Nature Resort

Sepilok Nature Resort

Kundasang – Sepilok. Start the day by discovering Sabah’s WWII history with a visit the Kundasang memorial park, before heading to Poring, to explore tropical lowland jungle and rainforest some 1,500 ft above sea level. Take the jungle trail leading up to the treetop canopy walkways, suspended 41 meters above the forest floor across giant Mengaris trees. Next we proceed by road to Sepilok. This evening we visit the rainforest discovery centre and experience a nightwalk. Overnight - Sepilok Nature Resort 

Day 13
Sepilok Orangutan – Kinabatangan River

Sepilok Orangutan – Kinabatangan River

Sepilok – Sukau. Breakfast Arriving at Sepilok we first watch a video on the primates rehabilitation before proceeding through the rainforest on wooden planks to witness their feeding. Travelling overland to the award winning Sukau Rainforest Lodge we arrive in time to take a late afternoon river cruise in search of some of the species which call Sukau home including Borneo pygmy elephants, orangutans and proboscis monkeys. Return for a candle light dinner overlooking the riverbank and slide show conducted by a naturalist. After dinner is the chance to take an optional night safari cruise. Overnight - Sukau Rainforest Lodge 

Day 14

Sukau Rainforest Lodge

This morning, a very early river cruise up the Kinabatangan River to Kelenanap oxbow lake to view birds and wildlife before returning for breakfast and an enlightening tour of the Hornbill Boardwalk with the resort’s in-house naturalist. Later, visit the 65 acres Kinabatangan Wildlife Corridor Regeneration Program (KWICORP) site to learn about reforestation of degraded riverine reserve and a further river cruise in search of wildlife. Day 15
Sandakan

Sandakan

Sandakan. After breakfast, we retrace our steps to Sandakan where the tour ends after you are transferred to the airport. Flights should be booked for after 2pm
