Itinerary
Fly from UK to
Madrid
Spend the day exploring Spain’s captivating capital city. Stroll to Plaza Mayor, the perfect spot to stop for a chilled jug of sangria. Continue to Parque del Buen Retiro Park and perhaps rent a paddleboat and row over the pretty lagoon, or take in the grand Royal Palace. After working up an appetite, head to the Mercado de San Miguel, a historic 19th century indoor market which is bursting with food stands offering everything from paella in tomato sauce, to seafood and local wine. Finish the day with churros dipped in a mug of thick hot chocolate at Chocolateria San Gines, among Madrid’s most famous churro stops.
5* Intercontinental Madrid

Burgos
Admire the extraordinary Gothic cathedral on a stroll through the historic centre, and visit the Museum of Human Evolution, designed by award-winning architect Juan Navarro Baldeweg. This region is famous for three specialities; blood sausage, sheep’s cheese and Ribero del Duero wine. An hour north of Burgos is where you’ll find the Bodegas Portia winery, where you can taste tipples served with delicious tapas
5* Landa

La Rioja
Visit the hamlet of San Millan, situated deep in the green valley, where you’ll find two UNESCO-listed monasteries. Head to the small village of Briones for the best views over the vineyards, and explore the Bodego Ysios winery. There are plenty of unique dining opportunities to try here - perhaps enjoy pinxto inside a house built into the cave at Bodega la Petra, or dine in a 17-th century vaulted cellar at Los Calaos de Briones.
4* Hotel Boutique Real Casona De Las Amas

San Sebastian
Join a foodie tour and eat and drink your way around the Basque region; wander through the old town and stop for plates piled high with freshly-grilled prawns, spicy padron peppers, patatas bravas and salted cod. You’ll also sample local wines, cider and craft beer.
