Fly from UK to Hobart
See the Hobart highlights on a guided tour of the city. Visit the Botanic Gardens and historic Battery Point, before exploring the bustling stalls of Salamanca Market. Hop aboard your transfer to Mount Nelson and enjoy panoramic views over the city and Derwent River.
Enjoy a morning rainforest stroll to Russell Falls, then take the winding road to iconic Lake St Clair. Continue through the rainforest, passing Queenstown on your way to Strahan, where you’ll have gorgeous views over Macquarie Harbour from your hillside hotel.
Cruise on the Gordon River with a stop at Sarah Island to learn about Tasmania’s convict history. Take in Hells Gates, the notoriously treacherous entrance to the harbour, before travelling to the dramatic Cradle Mountain-Lake St Clair National Park. Enjoy a guided walk by Dove Lake, and stroll along the boardwalk through ancient forests and alpine heathlands. Spot wallabies and echidnas on the way, or, for a more challenging hike, head to Marion’s Lookout.
After a guided walk through a working distillery, continue to 41° South Salmon and Ginseng Farm, where the Pyka family will take you on a tour before inviting you to sample smoked salmon and ginseng products. Stop off at the Ashgrove Cheese Factory and taste a selection of cheeses, before journeying to Launceston. Here, you’ll visit the magnificent Cataract Gorge and take a scenic drive through rolling country hills, pausing for lunch and wine tasting.
Freycinet National Park
Visit the Bridestowe Lavender Estate, which has produced high-quality lavender since 1922. Sample the famous lavender ice-cream, before following the picturesque east coast south to Freycinet National Park. Experience the exquisite beauty of Wineglass Bay on a four-hour cruise of the Freycinet Peninsula. After anchoring at Wineglass Bay, you’ll enjoy a gourmet ploughman’s lunch overlooking the national park.
Finish your tour back in Hobart. Visit the astounding Museum of Old and New Art (MONA) and continue to the Port Arthur Historic Site, where you’ll take a cruise around the Isle of the Dead and walk through the infamous convict prison. On the drive back, marvel at the amazing natural rock formations of the craggy Tasman Arch, the Devil’s Kitchen and the Blowhole. Spend your final night enjoying dinner at one of Hobart’s finest restaurants.
