Chobe National Park
Arrive in Kasane and transfer to Chobe National Park, renowned for its massive herds of elephants. The Chobe River is popular with these magnificent creatures coming down to the water’s edge for a refreshing drink. If you’re lucky you might even see them swimming, using their trunks like a snorkel. Admire the gorgeous golden sunsets on an evening river cruise, then, once the sun is down, don’t forget to look up into the darkness at the millions of stars, unblemished by light pollution. Finally, set the alarm for your early-morning game drive, where you can hope to see buffalo and zebra, and if you are lucky you might hear the roar of a lion or two.
Fly by light aircraft to the Okavango Delta, a peaceful network of waterways and lagoons bursting with life. Take in the spectacular view from above, and keep your eyes peeled for herds of elephants marching across the plains below. Bck on terra firma, explore by 4x4 and on foot, keep an eye out for birds and look out for the towering termite mounds, home to families of mongoose. If you like, you can arrange to visit a local community.
Take a scenic flight to your private island in the heart of the Okavango Delta. The only inland delta of its kind, it is an oasis of life in the centre of the Kalahari Desert. From the privileged and luxurious position, you’ll never be in a better position to spot Botswana’s famous wildlife. Cruise the calm waters of the Okavanago River in a traditional dugout canoe, known as a mokoro, spot elephants, crocodiles, buffalo, lion, cheetah, leopard and rhino and soak up the silence.
