Learn how to create Vietnam’s aromatic cuisine at home on a cooking class, then explore the Cu Chi tunnel network and learn about its fascinating history.

Hoi An

Board your flight to Hoi An, where the narrow winding streets are lined with beautiful old buildings, ornate pagodas and grand houses. It’s an atmospheric town, filled with graceful architecture, eclectic restaurants and upmarket lounge bars as well as friendly local cafes and bespoke tailors. Explore the photogenic Ancient Quarter on a walking tour, visiting the beautifully decorated Chinese Assembly Halls and the Japanese Covered Bridge, guarded by wooden monkeys on one side and dogs on the other.

Day 7

Fly north to Hanoi and spend the rest of the day discovering the sizzling street food in the Old Quarter. This culinary adventure is the perfect opportunity to learn more about Vietnam’s aromatic cuisine and sample the delicious dishes. Sip on locally brewed beer, slurp on steaming noodles and try out a tasty Vietnamese barbecue. Finish off with a refreshing ice-cream for desert in one of the city’s popular ice-cream parlours – what a treat!

Day 8
Halong Bay

Board a traditional junkboat for an overnight cruise in picturesque Halong Bay, whose two thousand-odd limestone pinnacles rise majestically from emerald green waters. Tuck into a fresh seafood lunch and explore the various caves and rock formations that fringe the bay. Take some time in the afternoon for a refreshing dip, or jump in a kayak for a closer view of the towering peaks. Halong Bay is a real highlight of Vietnam and a memory you will treasure for a lifetime.

Return to Hanoi and enjoy a city tour, visiting the exquisite temples, landscaped gardens, and historic monuments of this intriguing city. Start off with the 11th century Temple of Literature, built in honour of Cofunicus, then continue on to the Vietnamese Women’s Museum followed by the beating heart of the city, the Old Quarter. Here you’ll find the tranquil Hoan Kiem Lake where you can cross the bright red bridge to Jade Island, home to a colourful temple and an unusual embalmed turtle.
