America's great national park

The shining star of America’s national parks, Yosemite is open year-round, with flowing rivers and plunging waterfalls in spring, blooming wildflowers in summer, changing foliage colours in autumn, and dustings of white snow in winter. Hike, drive, climb or ski among the deep valleys, majestic meadows, ancient giant sequoias and a vast wilderness area to witness jaw dropping natural spectacles and camera battery depleting vistas. Or perhaps enjoy the breath-taking views and majestic scenery of this incredible National Park on guided horseback trips in Yosemite Valley, the heart of Yosemite National Park.

How to get around

Driving in Yosemite National Park

Hire a car

You’re most likely to arrive in Yosemite by hire car, so it makes sense to continue to use your own set of wheels to explore the park. Driving here isn’t difficult, although it can get crowded in summer, and roads can close in snow or high winds. If you don’t have your own transport or don’t want to drive, then there are various shuttle buses routes, or you could hire a bike and cycle the extensive network of cycle paths. Walking is another great way to explore when the weather is on your side, as is horse-riding, skiing and snowshoeing in winter.
