Areas of Cape Town

V&A Waterfront: For shopping, dining and entertainment the V&A Waterfront is a hotspot for tourists and locals alike. Still a working harbour, the Waterfront is an example of creative architecture and restoration and has become South Africa's most visited attraction.

Winelands: Staying in the Cape Winelands region of Stellenbosch or Franschhoek will give you easy access to the numerous wine estates in the area which means plenty of time for leisurely wine tasting and cellar tours.

Garden Route: No visit to the Western Cape is complete without at least a few days spent in the beautiful Garden route region. Incorporating the picturesque stretch of coastline between Mossel Bay and Nature's Valley.

Getting there and around

Cape Town International Airport is located about 22km (14mi) outside the city. The journey to/from the city centre takes between 25 - 45 minutes. Taxis in Cape Town are expensive, car hire is recommended.

Sightseeing Ideas

Table Mountain: The top of Table Mountain offers spectacular views in all directions and gives a bird's eye view of the city.

Cape Point & Cape Peninsula National Park: At the tip of the Cape Peninsula you will find Cape Point within the Cape Peninsula National Park.
