Zambezi Volunteer Experience
Zambia is an African gem filled with fantastic wildlife and beautiful scenery. The Zambezi River itself supports an immense amount of bird and wildlife, and we travel down this river on a canoe safari while camping out on deserted islands under the stars - the perfect way to experience the tranquillity of this important river. We spend 3 nights at a game reserve, with ample opportunity for game viewing. Whilst here, we also have the chance to do some volunteer work: participating on animal protection walks, or visiting the children and assisting with the vegetable garden at a local school. This trip is perfect for the active family who want to experience the Zambian wilderness while canoeing along the Zambezi, enjoy viewing the wildlife in a game reserve, and also leave knowing they have given something back to the people and the area!

This is an exciting trip designed for those wishing to encounter the spectacular wildlife and incredible scenery of Zambia in as intimate and active a way as possible, with time spent travelling by canoe on the Zambezi River as well as safaris both by vehicle and on foot. The mighty Zambezi is an excellent location for a canoe safari. Camping out on secluded beaches, the days are spent relishing magnificent scenery and abundant game while passing the ever-present basking crocodiles and hippo pods. Off the water there is also plenty of time for game walks and game drives to experience the diverse wildlife and remarkable scenery of this region.

A journey from Port Elizabeth to Cape Town along South Africa's famous Garden Route taking in fantastic wildlife, beautiful beaches, stunning scenery, quaint towns, vibrant cities and one of the most spectacular coastlines in the world. Starting in Port Elizabeth, the 'Friendly City', we visit Addo Elephant National Park, home to elephants, lions, buffalo, rhino and other animals. From here we embark on the Garden Route, starting with Tsitsikamma where we hike through the indigenous forest and along the canopy walkway. Continuing on to the quaint village of Knysna we visit the dramatic sea-cliffs known as the Heads. Leaving the coast behind we enter ostrich country in Oudtshoorn before travelling to Hermanus where, in season, whales can be seen frolicking just off shore. Then we enter South Africa's wine region and the Cape Peninsula with its penguins and the meeting of two oceans. Finally we explore Africa's most exciting city, sat in the shadow of Table Mountain: Cape Town.
