Adventure can be anything outside of the day-to-day. It doesn't have to mean white-water or bungy, but can be about the destination, the activity, the company you're in, the wildlife you see, the cultures you visit. Relaxed or full-on is your choice.

Mt Kenya Ascent

6 days £879 from
The majestic triple peaks of Mt Kenya are a sight to behold. We ascend on the little used Burguret Route and descend via the lesser used scenic Sirimon Trail. It is an exhilarating ascent as we pass spectacular alpine moorland, forests, glaciers and tarns. Our goal is Point Lenana, at 4985m, the highest trekking peak in Kenya and the second highest in Africa. Snow-capped for much of the year, it is arguably a more beautiful mountain than its neighbour Kilimanjaro. We add an extra day to the standard itinerary to aid acclimatisation as we trek the spectacular summit circuit past the technical peaks of Batian (5199m) and Nelion (5188m). A fantastic climb in its own right, all of our departures can be used to acclimitise for a Kilimanjaro ascent.

Wildlife And Wilderness of Ethiopia

11 days £899 from
Ethiopia's wildlife credentials are surprising. The country's varied ecosystems are home to 277 species of mammals and over 800 species of birds. Wildlife populations may not be as large as in neighbouring Kenya but the country's endemic species and the lack of tourists make this trip a rewarding experience. As we make our way through savannah-lands, forests, Rift Valley lakes and high plateaux we can expect to see a variety of animals found nowhere else including Gelada baboons, Menelik bushbucks, Mountain nyalas and, best of all, Ethiopian wolves. The outstanding birdlife is amongst the best in the world with a mix of species from the colourful to unusual. We hope to complete our wildlife experience with further sightings of different monkeys, antelopes and possibly even predators. Adding to the wildlife is Ethiopia's stunning scenery and great people watching as we pass horse and mule-drawn carts, visit markets, and witness local culture in the south of this magnificent country. Ethiopia is a country of contrasts, and combining this trip with Discover Ethiopia (AYE) allows you to delve into the country's rich culture, natural wonders and endemic wildlife. Dates have been scheduled so that you can travel on both tours without repeating any of the itinerary, and a discount is available if you book both trips together. Please see Trip Notes for full details.

Mt Kilimanjaro Group Trek - Marangu Route

7 days £1,159 from
At 5895m, Mt Kilimanjaro is Africa's highest peak and this adventure along the Marangu Route will get you to the top safely, quickly and with your budget in mind. Overnight in mountain huts and awake ready to conquer the slopes. As a leader in Kili treks, we'll take you to new heights in adventure on your way to the roof of Africa. Affectionately known as the Coca-Cola Route, Marangu covers forests, moorlands and 'The Saddle', a high-altitude desert, on its way to Kibo Hut. This is the easiest route to summit—with a catch. The trail is well maintained but because of the quick ascent, the success rate is not as high as other routes.

Classic Kenya Safari

6 days £1,199 from
Kenya is home to an astonishing array of wildlife and landscapes, and is a game viewer's paradise. This short trip includes both the glittering lakes of the Rift Valley and the rolling savannah of the Masai Mara - made famous by the incredible yearly migration of millions of wildebeest and zebras. Kenya's birdlife is also amazingly rich, with four hundred species at the Rift Valley lakes alone; the rosy-pink view of the flamingo population on Lake Nakuru is particularly spectacular. We stay in only two bases to minimise travel and maximise gameviewing. Our lodge at Elementaita is an ideal place to relax after an overnight flight and to explore Lake Nakuru National Park, the best small park in East Africa with a large concentration of rhino. In the Masai Mara we generally use Basecamp, an comfortable permanent tented camp situated in the heart of one of the most prolific wildlife areas on earth. The Masai Mara fulfils all expectations of endless plains, steep escarpments and abundant game - 'must see' on any Kenya safai holiday.

Uganda & Gorillas Overland

8 days £1,199 from
Using Uganda's vibrant Kampala as a base, this compact 8-day adventure offers those short on time a life-changing experience in the forests of Uganda. Experienced trackers will take you deep into the region’s forests for a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to spot endangered mountain gorillas in their natural habitat. Our overland trucks are an adventurous and inexpensive way to see the highlights while wilderness camping will keep you in the thick of the action. Your CEO will take care of the planning so you're free to explore all that Uganda has to offer. What a trip!

Masai Mara Long Weekend

4 days £1,199 from
You could spend your weekend at home, doing some DIY, or going out with friends to the same old restaurants and pubs, you could go for a hike somewhere nearby or you could go on safari in one of the greatest wildlife reserves in the world. Going to Kenya just for a few days may sound eccentric but when you think of it, it's just a really great weekend get-away. With very little time difference and overnight flights when coming from Europe we maximise our time in the Masai Mara by flying directly into the reserve. Here we spend three nights in a luxury permanent tented camp and spend two full days and two half days in the reserve searching for the prolific wildlife that call this savannah home. Featured in countless wildlife documentaries, the Masai Mara is, without a doubt, one of the best places to see classic African game. Large herds of antelopes, zebras and wildebeests attract predators such as lions, cheetahs and leopards. Elephants, rhinos, hippos and giraffes can be seen alongside baboons, crocodiles and countless birds and smaller mammals. August to October is the Great Migration, one of the most spectacular wildlife experiences to be had but the park can be visited year round. The only question left is: What are you doing this weekend?
