We would both like to thank you for all the work you did to ensure us of a great time. All the arrangements went like clockwork.

The move to the Warwick in Fiji was the icing on the cake for us. The weather was absolutely fantastic and the hotel was first class. After a hectic four weeks it was brilliant to be able to put our feet up and relax before the journey home.

We are not sure of our next holiday but it will either be a tour of North Island or a multi centre stay in Australia. Personally I would like to take the Ghan from Darwin to Adelaide and then travel up the east coast to Cairns but that may involve winning the lottery first.

I am writing to say how extremely happy I am with the service I have received from your Cambridge office - Becky Penfold and her team.

I was to attend a wedding in New Zealand and wanted to travel to Thailand on my way back to the UK. I contacted both Round the World Experts and Trailfinders in Cambridge - both sent me a range of brochures - Intrepid being duplicated. However, Becky followed up my enquiry with a telephone call and I therefore gave her a call and arranged to see her. After listening to my requirements she suggested that I seriously consider the Intrepid 'Best of Indochina' holiday leaving Bangkok on 2nd January - which fell very well into my timetable. I duly booked this and also plus 3 additional nights accommodation. We also booked all my flights to New Zealand and then on to Bangkok and return flights from Chang Mai back to London with Singapore Airlines. About two weeks after the booking was confirmed, the departure date was moved back by 4 days - i.e. departure now 6 January.

I was rather cross about this and went to see Becky again. Not only did she amend my flight dates but also recommended the Intrepid short break to the River Kwai (2 nights 3 days) which I paid for. In addition the company paid for the addional accommodation and gave me two trips within Bangkok covering the Royal Palace and another covering the night markets.

During the time prior to my departure she was always happy to hear from me and sorted out any queries I might have. Prior to my departure she visited Bangkok and when she returned she called me to say how marvellous the River Kwai trip was but also recommended that I changed hotels for my week in Bangkok as she thought I would be happier in the Hotel Viengtai instead of the New World City Hotel, since it was more centrally located and also had a swimming pool. - an excellent recommendation.

Whenever I called I was always greated in a friendly, polite manner by members of her team and I believe that she and her team are a credit to your company.

Moreover I have recommended her to a number of my friends who have booked airtickets/hotels and have been equally happy with the service they have received.

My holiday exceeded my expectations and I had an absolutely marvellous time. When I have saved up some pennies I will certainly be back in touch to book another holiday.

We had a fabulous time and everything went absolutely according to plan. The boys enjoyed everything and were a pleasure to be with. They particularly enjoyed Singapore, especially Universal Studios and a visit to the beaches on Sentosa Island. The stay with my daughter in Sydney went really well and we all walked up Sydney Harbour Bridge, visited Port Douglas and had a day trip to The Great Barrier Reef snorkling. I said I'd send a photo of part of our trip. This is the beach just along from the Muri Beach Club Hotel in Rarotonga. What an absolutely beautiful hotel and I'd recommend it to anyone. We've seen a few places on the island now and this is by far our favourite.

New Zealand in the camper van was tremendous fun and we have a life time of memories.

So far so good with the flights with only one hiccup. We missed our connecting flight in Aukland to Christchurch because our plane from Hong Kong was delayed because of a fault. Air NZ people were great and booked us onto the next flight the same day. I would fly with them again any day. They are truly wonderful and Steve will mention them in his article.

We had a fantastic time away! It was great so thank you so much for all your help. We really enjoyed the organised trip across America from Chicago to San Francisco. We had a great guide and the whole thing was well organised. There were some long days of driving involved which is to be expected and occasionally the stops made during the day were to see fairly lame things like the corn palace. But then we got to see some amazing national parks etc so all in all it was fantastic.

We both really enjoyed the camping side of things too. We enjoyed Vietnam at the end very much. We found it fairly easy to get around the country on our own and also straight forward to arrange day trips from our hotels there. The only place we felt that we did not see very well was Malaysia/Borneo. We didn't have too much time and we tried to keep costs down so we ended up just going to Kuching in Borneo and doing some day trips from this base. There was not much to see in Kuching itself. We enjoyed seeing Bako National Park and the orang-utan sanctuary. In hindsight maybe we would have been better going to Koto Kinabalu as a base or ideally travelling round Borneo to a few more places.

The Travel Butler service was great! We used it twice and were able to change our flights so easily and at no extra cost.

We would definitely use Round the World Experts again should we have another opportunity to do some travelling.

Can I just say a great big thank you for all of your help in planning and organising the flights etc for our trip to Australia. I had enquired of two other companies, Dial a Flight and Wexas but they never even managed to suggest acceptable flights, in spite of relatively specific instructions, so well done to you for providing the best solution along with help in deciding what to choose. Your advice on the seat selection on the A380 was excellent – we got exactly what we had hoped for and as a result didn't suffer any jet lag on either the outward or return journeys. Suddenly flying to Australia has become less daunting and therefore something we will probably be doing again. Also your help with the chauffeur car pickups along with the subsequent changes due to our hotel alterations was brilliant and all went exactly to plan. If only everything in my life went this well I would have more time to write thank you letters...

I have the reputation among my work colleagues of being a Victor Meldrew clone, I can’t really deny it as I suppose it’s all too often true. However, all though I’m able to whinge and moan with the best I’m also known for being fair minded and this is my reason for my writing today. I’ve just returned from a most wonderful holiday that was managed logistically by Nicola Kennedy.

Technically my trip was flawless and everything a travel agent could and should have managed was put in place in a very helpful and professional manner. I’m approaching retirement and I’ve done much travelling in my life. If I ever had a “know it all” attitude in any area of this experience I was gently guided by Nicola to make decisions that proved to be the right ones and that seriously contributed to making my holiday such a seamlessly pleasant experience – untroubled by travel worries. I don’t doubt that Nicola was “just doing her job” but Darren, she does it damned well!!

On occasion during the run up to my holiday I’ve had cause to speak with Nicola from time to time with little queries and clarifications I wanted – on every occasion she remembered me, my wife’s name and my quirky personality. Either she takes very good client file notes or she has an impeccable memory. Either way it’s an impressive customer service skill and I hope that just reward goes in her personnel file and in her purse every month!!

Whilst I’m well aware of the naivety of my next remark I feel as though I’ve made a new friend through this lady’s caring, diligent and professional delivery of my travel needs – I’m truly grateful and believe me sir if she’d got this wrong I’d be all over you like a rash!! I’ve attached a copy of the Qype review of my trip which I hope – in some measure counterbalances the scathing remarks made by others in the same forum. I didn’t ask for miracles I expected good and competent service – I received more than that and I’m grateful to the lady who delivered this for me – please will you be grateful too, these professionals will keep you in business when others go to the wall.
