London » Buenos Aires » Santiago » Lima » Santiago » Sydney » Tokyo » Hong Kong » London

If you are looking for some less usual destinations on your trip, this is the Classic Itinerary for you. The first stop takes you into the capital of Argentina, Buenos Aires. Also known as "The Paris of South America" Buenos Aires is famous for its beaches and plethora of Tango bars.

After Buenos Aires it is a relatively short four and a half hour flight to the Historic city of Lima, with its many Churches and beautiful Cathedrals. It is also the international gateway for trips to Machu Pichu and the Inca trail. Your journey then takes you on to the gastronomic delight that is Santiago in Chile, famous for its seafood and incredible wines; this will be a treat for your taste buds! Your next destination is vibrant Sydney, with such famous sights as the Opera House and the Harbour Bridge.

Your next port of call is the completely contrasting Tokyo, in the heart of Japan. If you are lucky enough to be there in the summer time, you will be hard pressed to miss the spectacular fireworks festivals that happen virtually every weekend! The final stop on this classic itinerary is magical Hong Kong, great for some last minute gifts, or just to experience some of the unique Hong Kong vibrancies!

Suggested Itinerary

Peru and Tokyo

Buenos Aires – 5 days

Buenos Aires combines the laid-back ambience of a European capital with the fiery passion of a Latin-American barrio, a combination that makes a Buenos Aires holiday irresistible to most. Travel to Buenos Aires for beaches, delectable shops, stunning weather, colourful neighbourhoods and arguably the best nightlife in the world, all the ingredients for a wonderful holiday in Buenos Aires.

Lima - 7 days

A holiday in Lima may not sound a desirable prospect if one considers it is a city of almost 8-million, most of them living in poverty and pollution. The metropolis was, however, once the pride of the Spanish colonialists and retains enough history and character to tantalise and charm tourists, and there are some fascinating archaeological sites and museums to explore in and around the city. The vibrant nightlife is yet another good reason to travel to Lima.

We recommend you book a G.A.P Adventures Panoramic Peru Tour from £885 per person OR a G.A.P Adventures Great South America Journey from Lima to Santigao from £960 per person.

Santiago – 5 days

A modern metropolis mingled with the breath of the past, a holiday in Santiago is perhaps not as exciting as a visit to one of the other major South American cities, but it is nevertheless a city with distinctive personality, great sites, colourful markets, lively street life and an awesome museum devoted to pre-Columbian exhibits. Many also travel to Santiago to use this city as a base for outdoor adventures, and excursions to wineries, national parks and ski resorts.

We recommend you stay at the Holiday Inn Express from £39 per person per night and add on La Campana National Park Full Day Tour from £78 per person.

Sydney – 7 days

Sydney is the first port of call for many travellers arriving into Australia. Famous for its beautiful harbour, iconic Opera House and Harbour Bridge, Sydney has plenty to entertain its visitors. Why not visit one of Sydney's many beaches and have a surfing lesson, climb the magnificent Sydney Harbour Bridge or venture out to the World Heritage Listed Blue Mountains and experience one of Australia's natural wonders.

We recommend you stay in the Travelodge Sydney 3* from £38 per person per night and add on a Bridge Climb from £91 per person, a Learn to Surf in Bondi from £43 per person, a Harbour Cruise from £22 per person and a Blue Mountains Day Trip from £57 per person.

Tokyo – 5 days

This exciting and bustling city is bursting with both cultural and historic sights as well as modern day tourist attractions including bars, restaurants and fantastic shopping. A visit to the Imperial Palace is a 'must' as well as the Yasukuni Shrine. If you are travelling with children then a trip to Tokyo Disney Resort can not be missed!

We recommend you stay at the Sunroute Asakusa 3* from £35.50 per person per night and add on a Full Day Tour with lunch to Mt Fuji and Hakone from £65 per person.

Hong Kong – 5 days

Hong Kong is one of the most vibrant & exciting cities in the world. Highlights include a tram ride up Victoria Peak for fantastic views of the city, a visit to Stanley Market & a day trip to the city of Macau.

We recommend you stay in the Metropark Hotel Kowloon 3* from £69 per person per night and add on a Hong Kong Island Tour from £6 per person and a Kowloon and New Territories Tour from £15 per person.
